Sizing
Please use our size charts as a general guide to help you select your size for our swimwear, activewear and neoprene suits. If you have a specific sizing question or would like more information, please e-mail: marta@mf-sea.com We are always happy to advise!
Our suits run pretty true to size as per our size charts. Our suits are designed for comfort and being active, both in and out of the water. They are made with 100% recycled materials and double-lined for durability, so our fabric won’t stretch out as much as other swimwear you might be used to. This means that if you are on the cusp between two sizes, we would recommend sizing up, as our fit may feel more snug.
We recommend measuring yourself following the guidelines provided on our size chart page. Please note, some of our styles do differ and have a unique fit. So in addition to using our size charts, we recommend also referring to any specific recommendations provided on each product page.
We would typically recommend going with the larger of the two sizes to ensure a comfortable fit all around.
We recommend going with a larger size to accommodate for height, typically the smaller size will be too short. Some of our suits have a more slim, high-waist than others, so these should still fit well around the waist.
Our swimsuits do not include padding, but they are designed with an inner mesh lining that provides support and comfort. This ensures a flattering shape without the need for uncomfortable extra padding. This feature is crafted to enhance comfort and maintain a beautiful silhouette while swimming or lounging.
When choosing a swimsuit, ensuring a perfect fit is key for both comfort and appearance. Here’s how you should determine if a swimsuit fits you well:
- Comfortable Support: The swimsuit should provide adequate support without feeling restrictive. Check that the straps don't dig into your shoulders and that the band around your chest feels snug but not tight.
- Proper Coverage: Ensure the swimsuit covers everything appropriately without any accidental slips or gaps. You should feel confident that everything is securely held in place, especially when moving or bending.
- No Pinching or Bulging: There should be no pinching around the edges of the swimsuit. Likewise, it shouldn’t cause any bulging in areas where it’s too tight. The fabric should lay smooth against your skin.
- Snug Fit When Wet: Remember that some swimsuits can become looser when wet. Ensure the swimsuit fits snugly while dry to prevent it from sagging or becoming too loose in the water.
- Range of Motion: Test the suit by moving around a bit—stretch your arms, bend over, and sit down. The suit should stay in place and not ride up or shift uncomfortably.
- Flattering Silhouette: The swimsuit should flatter your natural body shape and enhance your favorite features. Consider styles that complement your figure, whether it’s a high-waisted bottom, a ruched torso, or a plunging neckline.
- Check for Transparency: For lighter-colored or thinner fabrics, ensure that the swimsuit remains opaque, especially when wet. You might want to perform a quick “wet test” if possible.
- Adjustable Features: Features like adjustable straps or tie closures can help you customize the fit as needed, providing additional comfort and security.
Choosing the right swimsuit involves a balance of functional support and aesthetic appeal. If you're ordering online, it's helpful to refer to our sizing chart to understand how the sizing works and if you might need to size up or down.

Our swimwear is designed with your skin's health in mind. The fabric used in MF SEA swimwear has been rigorously tested and rated UPF 50+, the highest rating available. This means it blocks at least 98% of UV radiation, offering excellent protection against the sun's harmful rays.
UPF Explained:
UPF stands for "Ultraviolet Protection Factor," a standard used to measure the effectiveness of sun protective fabrics. UPF 50+ is the top tier in sun protection for clothing, similar to how SPF is used for sunscreens. This rating ensures that only a minimal fraction of the sun’s rays can penetrate the fabric, significantly reducing your skin's exposure to harmful UV radiation.
With MF SEA swimwear, you can enjoy your time in the sun with the added confidence that you are well-protected. Whether you're at the beach, by the pool, or engaged in outdoor activities, our swimwear is your shield against UV exposure, keeping your skin safe and healthy.
Care
Our swimwear and activewear lines are both made out of 100% recycled ocean waste. More precisely, repurposed discarded ghost fishing-nets. They also need a little care in order to last longer. Caring properly for your swimwear and activewear not only helps maintain their quality and fit but also extends their life, making them a more sustainable choice. Here’s how you can care for these garments effectively:
Swimwear Care
- Hand Washing: Always hand wash your swimwear in cold water. This helps prevent stretching and damage to the fabric.
- Mild Detergent: Use a gentle, mild detergent that is appropriate for delicate fabrics.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Make sure to thoroughly rinse out all the soap to prevent any residue that can degrade the fabric.
- Drying: After washing, gently squeeze out excess water (avoid wringing) and hang your swimwear in the shade to dry. Avoid direct sunlight as it can fade the colors and weaken the fabric.
Activewear Care
- Machine Washing: You can wash your activewear in a washing machine, but it’s best to use a gentle cycle with cold water to protect the fabric’s integrity.
- Mild Detergent: Similar to swimwear, use a mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach as these can break down the material over time.
- Separate Washing: Wash your activewear separately from rougher materials or velcro to avoid pilling.
- Drying: Lay flat or hang your activewear in the shade to dry naturally. Avoid using the dryer as high heat can damage the elastic fibers.
Additional Tips
- After Swimming: Rinse your swimwear in cold fresh water as soon as possible after swimming in chlorinated pools or saltwater to remove any chemicals or salts that can accelerate fabric breakdown.
- Storage: Make sure your garments are completely dry before storing them to prevent mold and mildew growth.
- Rotation: Rotate your swimwear and activewear use to give each piece a chance to regain its shape and elasticity between wears.
By following these care instructions, you can ensure that your swimwear and activewear, made from recycled ocean waste, remain in great condition for as long as possible, reflecting both your style and your commitment to sustainability.
